Malaysian Star Fruit (Single)

We usually dispatch the starfruit when they are green and firm to ensure the fruit gets to you in good condition however we may dispatch riper fruits depending on availability.

Starfruit have 5 ridged egdes and when sliced crossways, the slices are perfect star shapes, hence the name, starfruit. When picked before being fully ripe, the fruits are firm and green with a crisp citrus like flavour. At this stage they are used for salads and stir fries. If left to ripen fully, the starfruit change to a bright yellow colour and soften. Once ripe, the starfruit have a sweeter flavour and are then best either juiced or eaten raw out of hand. Starfruit are also often used for decorative purposes. Starfruit are a good source of vitamin c and also contain phosphorus, potassium and niacin.

• We aim to send these fruits on the unripe side so they have more time to ripen. If unripe fruits are not available, it is likely riper fruits with enough time to travel and consume will arrive (ready or close to ready to eat).
